Pray for our troops

By Laurie | January 22, 2007

“Pray for our troops” that phrase is pretty clichéd by now, however they are going to need them now, more than ever. Just last night the headlines read:

Iraqi leader drops protection of militia

Iraq’s prime minister has dropped his protection of an anti-American cleric’s Shiite militia after U.S. intelligence convinced him the group was infiltrated by death squads, two officials said Sunday…

I don’t have any inside intell, but something is getting ready to go down. Something big. First the increase in troops and now this announcement last night about radical cleric al-Sadr. Whether you embrace GW or not, he has highly intelligent advisors who do not make willy nilly decisions of this magnitude [to increase troops] without just cause.

It appears that the not too distant future will bring an increase in violence US military launch an offensive targeting militias; bringing with it increased US casualties. Look at just the bloodshed from this past weekend.

The United States military said that two marines died Sunday in western Iraq and that an additional seven service members died Saturday. The deaths brought the weekend toll to 27 and made Saturday the third-deadliest day for United States forces since the war here began.

Let’s pray for our troops and for all the parents whose children are over there, as they enter the valley once again on behalf of all of us here at home and around the world.
